Give Seville two full sightseeing days if you can: one for the cathedral and Alcázar area, another for a slower city walk and Triana. That is a suggested first-visit pace, not a requirement. Arrange your essential monument bookings before filling the evenings, and leave space to rest between walking and late activities.
Cathedral, Alcázar and Santa Cruz
Main sights with current booking facts
The Real Alcázar's published general admission checked on 1 November 2026 is €15.50; the Cuarto Real Alto is a separate €5.50 visit. The general visit covers the lower palace spaces and gardens. Do not assume a standard palace ticket includes a timed upper royal apartment tour. The official winter schedule is 09:30–17:00 from October through March, with clearing of the site later; in April–September the displayed entry schedule extends to 19:00. Treat the admission window and the time staff begin clearing rooms as different limits.
The Cathedral's 2026 general tariff is €13 online or €14 at the ticket office, with current checkout charges to be reviewed before payment. It includes the Giralda and admission to El Salvador church. The Cathedral lists cultural visiting hours of 10:45–18:00 Monday–Saturday and 14:30–19:00 Sunday, subject to worship. Its current instructions say the visit starts with the Giralda and identify different access points for online tickets and ticket-office visitors. Sunday morning is therefore not an interchangeable substitute for a weekday morning.
The Cathedral estimates roughly 75 minutes for the general visit. Use that as a minimum planning reference rather than a reason to schedule the Alcázar immediately afterwards. The Giralda climb and the palace gardens are meaningful physical activity in warm weather.
The official Seville destination guide brings together the cathedral, Giralda, Real Alcázar, Santa Cruz and Plaza de España. Choose the interiors that interest you: the cathedral and Alcázar are separate attractions with their own booking arrangements. Check what each ticket includes and its current access conditions.
A practical first day combines one major interior with Santa Cruz. Put the second monument on another morning if you prefer a slower pace. Do not place timed admissions back to back without allowing for security, walking and finding the right entrance. Save the reservation and the entrance location together.
Plaza de España and Triana
Two days in a walking order
For a concrete first day, make the Alcázar your morning anchor, then walk Santa Cruz and take a proper midday break. Visit the Cathedral/Giralda in a separately chosen slot that leaves space around both admissions. Finish towards the Guadalquivir and El Arenal if you still want to walk. If you prefer slow interior visits, put the Cathedral on the second day rather than forcing both around lunch.
On the second morning, combine María Luisa Park and Plaza de España. Later, cross towards Triana and the area around the Triana bridge for a different riverside walk. This is an editorial route, not a timed guided-tour promise. You can replace the longer park outing with an indoor museum visit during extreme heat or heavy rain without losing the main palace booking.
If adding Setas de Sevilla, distinguish the public space beneath the structure from its paid elevated experience. Buy only the level you actually want. A sunset product is a separate timing decision; do not let it turn the entire day into a race across three ticketed attractions.
Make Plaza de España and María Luisa Park the focus of a separate walk. Later, plan an outing towards the Guadalquivir and Triana if you want another side of the city. Keeping these walks distinct lets you stop when you want rather than constantly checking the time.
Study your loop before leaving and check accessibility where slopes or steps would matter. If your group has different walking preferences, agree a meeting place and keep the second part optional. A shorter enjoyable walk is a better holiday memory than completing every marker on a map.
Booking an evening
For flamenco, compare the actual performance programme, seating and duration before paying. Confirm the venue address, admission time and cancellation terms. A generic description of Seville's music does not establish what will be performed on your date.
For meals, decide whether you want a booked dinner or a flexible evening of small plates. Check menus and opening directly. Leave one evening free if your daytime bookings are already substantial; you may value that flexibility after a long monument visit.
Transport and comfortable timing
Arrival, food and where the evening finishes
TUSSAM's newer January 2026 EA poster publishes a €6 single fare and an €8 return valid on the purchase day only. Older brochures allow the following day, so do not rely on that older condition. That return is not a generic week-long holiday ticket. The EA corridor connects the airport with points including Santa Justa and Plaza de Armas; select the stop for your address, not whichever city station name you recognise first. Recheck the actual final departure for your flight date rather than using the brochure as a guarantee against traffic or timetable changes.
Santa Cruz is convenient to the monument cluster, while Triana requires a river crossing for those visits and Alameda is a different evening location north of the central cluster. Those are practical trade-offs, not endorsements of particular hotels. Ask how reception handles a late flight and where a taxi can actually drop you if the property is on a restricted street.
For a food-focused evening, look for the dishes and format you want rather than one compulsory bar: gazpacho, espinacas con garbanzos and small tapas portions can make a different meal from a full restaurant dinner. Read portion descriptions and menu prices before ordering. If booking flamenco, verify duration, seats and whether food is part of the price; a dinner show and a performance-only ticket are different products.
Check the current airport transfer and onward rail options for your date. Save the station name from your ticket rather than assuming all trains leave from the same place. For a city-only stay, compare public transport with the parking and collection work of a rental car.
- Put outdoor walks early or late on a hot day.
- Keep water and an indoor or shaded break in the plan.
- Ask your accommodation about luggage storage and late check-in.
- Leave a margin before the return train or airport transfer.
For a longer journey, see the Andalusia route guide before deciding when to collect a car.
Entry for UK and US visitors
UK and US tourists can visit visa-free for 90 days in any 180 across Schengen. Check UK entry advice and the EU travel site before departure: EES records entries and exits, as checked on 1 November 2026, ETIAS still announces a launch in the last quarter of 2026 without a precise start date, and the EU says no traveller action is required yet. Requirements change; count previous Schengen trips as well as this holiday.
Staying connected
Data helps retrieve the Alcázar and Cathedral bookings, locate their different entrances and check the EA stop for your accommodation; download tickets before the day starts. A data-only eSIM for Spain can be installed before travelling, provides local data on arrival and keeps your own SIM through Seville and any onward Andalusia stops.
